FOOD When catering for a royal event like a princess gem party think two types of food; celebration food and substantial food.

While cake, cupcakes and lollies are a must to celebrate, children and adults need a little nutrition to keep smiles on their faces for the duration of the party.

We provide a list of themed suggestions in our ebook to provide hungry guests.

CAKE A birthday party isn’t a party without a cake! Whether you buy one pre-made, have one custom made or make it yourself there are lots of ways to get a beautiful cake on your party table.

The key with your cake is to ensure it is right on theme and a key feature at your party. We had ours custom made by a cake maker and asked them to include all the critical items to tie it into the party, which were; the color palatte of Rose Gold, soft pinks, peaches and white, a Rose Gold happy birthday glitter cake topper and gem drops which they made from meringue.

We provided the flowers which were also used throughout the party to bring it all together. When working with a cake maker it’s also a good idea to go through their portfolio and select cakes you like so they know the style you are looking to create.

PARTY FAVORS Favors, also known as treat bags or lollie bags, are traditionally a way for a host to say thank you for coming and celebrating with them. It’s a lovely way to incorporate a keep sake or memory of the party for departing guests.

For our Princess Gem party we used Rose Gold gift bags. Inside were gem bracelets and a few lollies as the take home gift for each child. Thank You tags were used to close the bags and a foil, helium heart balloon was attached for added fun at home.

A favors corner or table offers another opportunity to decorate and we used tassels in the colours of peach, pink, Rose Gold and white to theme perfectly with our party color theme. Every child loves to receive a gift and if you are able to orchestrate your child to give them out then it’s a nice way for them to thank their friend for coming and sharing in their special day.

STATIONERY Handmade stationery adds such a personal touch to your party.

We gave our stationery designer a clear brief to use foil to accentuate gems and key words for our invitations, place cards and signs.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY It’s important to think about how you want to capture your celebration. With so much planning and preparation, you want to be able to look back over the day and see the joy and memories it created for you and your child.

It could be as easy as asking a friend to be responsible for photos throughout the day or you could hire a professional photographer. The importance is being able to share those memories together in the years to come. It’s quite common on special occasions to also incorporate a videographer into your day.

With careful editing and a clear understanding of the style you are wanting to create a videographer can bring together a 1-2 minute synopsis of the day that you can share with your family and friends.
